A glass-block retail facade lit from within, so the whole building reads as a lantern.

The facade is a grid of cast glass blocks with no visible structure, so there was nowhere to hide a fixture on the outside. All of the light comes from behind the glass.

Linear profiles sit in the floor edge at every level and wash the inner face of the blocks. Each block scatters the light differently, which gives the surface its texture. A time switch follows sunset through the year and drops the facade to a third of its output after midnight.
